Science, Technology & Engineering · Primary School · Junior Infants to 6th Class
A complete year of STE, delivered by teacher-led interactive-whiteboard lessons, a printed pupil Activity Book, and a Teacher Resource Book, built to the NCCA Primary Science, Technology & Engineering specification.
Platform used by 1 in 3 schools
Open any class and click straight into the real lessons — engaging, interactive and ready to teach.
The interactive lesson is the lesson — not a textbook with digital extras bolted on. You teach it from the board, with the activities built into every step and every child working the Activity Book page in the same lesson. All you need is the whiteboard — no pupil devices required.
Every activity runs at three depths, so one activity stretches the whole class:
Open the idea up together — try things on the board with no wrong turns.
Work it step by step, with the structure pupils need to get it right.
Stretch the pupils who are ready, without leaving anyone behind.
And an on-demand Activity Bank for more practice on the spot.
Part of the redeveloped STEM Education curriculum, published in 2025. Every area — from the Nature of STEM through Living Things, Materials, Energy & Forces, Technology and Engineering — is taught across the full year, with each lesson built around its learning outcomes. It's the complete curriculum, delivered — not a set of resources to add on top.
Common questions about our Science, Technology & Engineering curriculum
Science, technology and engineering as one integrated subject – hands-on investigation, design-and-make, and digital and computational thinking – with a full year of lessons for every primary class.
Lessons are teacher-led and practical. Pupils investigate, build and explain, supported by interactive activities on the board and ready-to-use classroom resources.
No. Every lesson is fully planned with teaching notes and answers, so no specialist subject knowledge is needed.
Most lessons use everyday classroom materials. Where a lesson needs anything specific, it's listed in the lesson so you can prepare in advance.
Every lesson has its own Investigation Journal page where pupils record their investigations and designs on paper. You can buy the bound Investigation Journals, or print the pages yourself – we provide a print-ready PDF for every lesson.
There's also a Teacher Resource Book with answers and teaching support for the year.
No – pupils don't each need a device, as lessons are led from the board. But pupils can use a device, in school or at home, to do the activities themselves.
Computational thinking and coding feature as pupils progress, but lessons build the skills step by step and no prior coding experience is required of the teacher.
